Nine Years of Poker Now

On September 17th, 2017, the first version of Poker Now went online. It was a browser page where you could deal a hand of poker with your friends, no download, no account, just a link you sent to the group. After a post on Reddit, about ten people a day showed up.

Today, nine years later, more than half a million hands are played on Poker Now every day. Over 16 million a month.

We want to say the only thing worth saying on an anniversary: thank you!

Almost all these hands started with someone doing the same thing that happened on day one, creating a table and sending the link to their friends. That is still how Poker Now grows. Not ads: a group chat, a Sunday night, a link. Nine years of home games, clubs, tournaments, bad beats and hero calls that we got to host but that were never really ours. They were yours.

We also want to say the second thing worth saying: we’re not done. Poker Now is still a live product and it has been worked on, week after week, for nine years. That doesn’t stop at nine. We’ll keep shipping the things that make the table feel like a real table, and we’ll keep listening, the same way we did when there were ten of you.
